Worship
In worship we come as we are, bringing the real things, the hard questions and the unexpected joy, and trust that God meets us in them.
We gather on Sundays at 9.30am. (See Connect Groups for what happens on the third Sunday of the month.)
We enjoy creative, participatory, authentic worship, with moments for stillness and contemplation. We always begin with an Acknowledgement of Country and our Statement of Welcome. During the first half of the service we sing, we pray and we share stories. During the second half of the service, we listen to scripture, we hear preaching from diverse voices, and it is during this time that young children are invited to the Gumnut Room for faith formation through stories and activities, though they're just as welcome to stay in the service the whole time.
On the first Sunday of the month, we share communion. Everyone is welcome at the table. We serve home-made gluten-free, dairy-free bread, with both juice and wine offered.
After the service, morning tea is shared in the hall.
Taize Contemplative Service
In the evenings at 6.30pm, we hold a Taize service led by members of the congregation. This is a quiet time for reflection and meditation, accompanied by Bible readings and simple singing.
On the third Sunday of the month, we have Dinner Church at 6.30pm. At Dinner Church we gather around tables in the hall, sharing a meal, prayer and facilitated conversation.
If you're new to St Andrews, we encourage you to come a few times to get a picture of the various patterns of worship.
Thursday Devotional Service
On the third Thursday of the month at 10.30am, we hold mid-week devotions, a 40 minute service with traditional hymns, prayer, periods of silent reflection and a short message on the scripture reading of the day, followed by morning tea in the hall.
